Ladakh Home Stay

Day 1: Arrive Leh by air from Delhi Arrive Leh and you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to either rest in the shade of the hotel courtyard, or we can take a lazy walk into Leh's colourful bazaar. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Visit Shey, Thiksey, Hemis Monasteries

Full day sightseeing with guide and pack lunch to SHEY / THIKSEY and HEMIS monasteries.

SHEY : Situated on a hillock 15 km. upstream from Leh was once the residence of the royal family. According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tidetan kings. A 7.5 meter high copper status of Buddha, plated with gold and the largest of its kind is installed here.

THIKSE : Spectacularly sighted, Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive gompa. There are several temples in this gompa, containing images stupas and wall painting of Buddhas which are exquisite.

HEMIS : It is the wealthiest, best known and biggest gompa in Ladakh. Its popularity stems from the major annual festival held here in summer. The festival is in honour of Guru Padma Sambhav's birth anniversary. It also has the largest Thanka, which is unfurled once in 12 years (next in 2004).

Day 3: Leh - Khardungla Pass (18,380 ft) After breakfast, start for a full day excursion to Khardungla pass. The Khardungla pass, which is the highest motorable pass in the world, has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. At the top, you can enjoy the natural beauty of snow-capped mountain. In the evening return to the hotel and spend the night there
Day 4: Drive Leh to Likir and camp Drive to Liker, around 65 kms from Leh, towards the north of Leh, on Srinagar highway road. One the way visit Hall of Fame, Spituk, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pather Sahib. Sangam of Indus and Zanskar rivers. Upon arrival at Likir visit the monastery of Likir and later check in to your private camp. Overnight home stay at Likir.
Day 4: Drive Leh to Likir and camp Drive to Liker, around 65 kms from Leh, towards the north of Leh, on Srinagar highway road. Day 5: Trek Prepartion Likir to Yangthang (5 hours) Today after early morning breakfast start your first day of trekking to reach Yangthang following a route through Saspotse village and couple of small passes, Phobe La, 3600m and Chagatse La, 3650m. Overnight home stay at Yangthang.
Day 6: Yangthang to Ridzong Gompa and back to Yangthang (4-5 hours) After the breakfast proceed towards Ridzong. Path follows a stream and plantation of apricot and apple. Past a nunnery, the Ridzong monastery lies hidden in a small isolated valley bounded by mountains. After lunch walk back to Yangthang. Overnight home stay at yangthang.
Day 6: Yangthang to Hemis Shukpachan (3-4 hours) Leave Yangthang for Hemis via Tsermangchen La, 3750m, a short and pleasant walk, arriving in Hemis Shukpachan by afternoon. For the rest of the day explore the village. Overnight home stay Hemis Shukpachan.
Day 8: Hemis Shukpachan to Temisgam (4-5 hours) Leave village and proceed towards Temisgam via Maptek La, 3750m. Crossing the pass, fine view of Ang village opens up, trail follows down to Temisgam. Visit a ruined fort and a small monastery up on the hill. Overnight home stay Temisgam.
Day 9: Trek Temisgam to Khalsay (4-5 hours.), and drive to Leh Walk down to Khalsay via Bongbongchan La, 3650m, reaching Khalsay, a popular stop for vehicles traveling between Leh and Kargil, then drive to Alchi. Overnight home stay Alchi.
Day 10: In leh - Leh to Phey Rafting in River Indus uptill Nemo Morning by jeep transfer to Phey the starting point for river rafting. The main attraction of the run, mostly with Grade II or III easy rapids is that it passes through astoundingly beautiful mountains, many of them with tiny villages and imposing old monasteries nestling among the valleys. The run starts at Phey and ends about 36 km from Leh, at Nemu the confluence of Zanskar & Indus River. Pick up from Nimo and drive to Leh enroute visiting Alchi & Likir monastery. overnight at hotel in Leh
Day 10: Morning Fly Leh to Delhi
